He is constantly striving for ways to lead his projects towards carbon neutrality.

Hajo received his Masters of Science in Architecture from the Delft University of Technology in 1998 where he won first place in a design competition for an environmental friendly mixed-use building. His architectural education was immediately followed by a two-year internship at Hoog + D’Ambrosio Architects in Victoria, BC. He then spent the next 16 years following his passion for timber frame design while working for various timber frame companies as a freelance designer including his award winning work on the Tobiano Presentation Centre in Kamloops, BC. Between 2006 and 2018 Hajo operated his own company, Ecocentric Design in Kaslo, BC, which focussed both on timber frame and passive house design.

Hajo has volunteered as a board member for the Langham Cultural Society and the Kaslo Riding Club and enjoys windsurfing.
