Before moving to Vancouver June lived in Calgary where his interest in architecture prompted him to become an architectural technologist allowing him to develop his skill and expertise in the production of construction documents. This was followed by him earning his Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and eventually a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary. While in the masters program, June participated in a study abroad program in Europe where he spent time studying the architecture of Barcelona and other European sites and cities.

Before coming to Checkwitch Poiron Architects, June developed his professional practice at the architectural firms of Marshall Tittmore Architects and Abugov Kaspar Architecture where he contributed to the development of a variety of commercial and public projects such as the Canmore Public Works, Voyageur Hotel and Country Hills Crematorium.

It is June’s belief that buildings should be designed with great care and sensibility because they are critical to the health, safety, and comfort of users. This is supported by his attention to the subtle nuances of his designs and the dexterity in which he performs his work. He continually aims to make every project on which he contributes a great piece of architecture.
